Did anyone actually ever use a cookie jar for keeping cookies? Wouldn’t they go stale? This clown would be enough to keep my hand out of the cookie jar that’s for sure. It’s no wonder I was the only bidder at auction.

His skipping rope hangle comes off. Y’know, incase of emergency. Marked ‘Japan’ underneath.

And on writing this post I now realise I have at least 6 cookie jars, and not a single cookie.

In his painted yellow coat and green tie, this wonky-eyed owl cookie jar looks pretty friendly. Or stoned. I’m not sure which. Simply marked ‘Japan’ underneath.

What is this? Can you help? It’s obviously a dutch boy, but what is it for? Holes all over it. I’m guessing something kitchen-y, but who knows. What I do know is that his empty holes of eyes completely freak me out. Something nightmares are made of. In a nice way of course.

Face Bottle

This. What do I say about this? It’s a bottle. With a fluffy cuff, engraved leather neck piece, and silver lips. Don’t ask. I didn’t.

Made in Italy and marked underneath. ‘D.R.L Solaro Italy 075′. Still has its corked lid. I’m hoping that if I open it a genie might come out.

Sadly I’ve not been able to discover any info on it. Yet.

Rozelle Markets have long been my favourite since they started and I lived 30 seconds walk away. So many goodies I own have come from there. More recently I bought this AACP (Australian Art Ceramics Products) classic Fish vase. It was a splurge. 20 bucks. More than I normally spend on one item. But look at it. JUST LOOK AT IT. It’s freakin’ FANTASTIC!

Another cracker of a poem about drinking. And I couldn’t agree more! This mug of a mug I picked up at auction. It’s ‘Prince William Ware, England’ with 22 Carat Gold detail. Made in England. I’m not sure Prince William would approve, all in all.

This cute little planter I picked up at an op-shop in Wellington NSW, along with a array of other goodies. I could have spent all day (and a lot of money) there. Alpine Army Decanters

Not one, but TWO of these freakin’ cool decanters I uncovered in a box lot at an auction last weekend. They are Italian Alpine Army decanters. I believe they once contained Grappa. One still has a sticker “C.A.S.A Cameri (Novara) Made in Italy”. I’ve never seen anything quite like them. No corks sadly. Both are slightly different from one another, but both in incredible condition. Awesome find at an awesome bargain!

An absolutely gorgeous find from Terrigal Antique Market. I paid a little more for him than I normally would for one item, but there was just no way I could leave this little fellow behind. Apparently he belonged to the the grandmother-in-law(?) of the stall-holder.

Wow, what a mug! I found this corker at a local garage sale. How ANYONE would part with it I cannot understand. Her boobs swing to and fro while you drink, and her hand poised daintily over her lady bits. Brilliant! Why aren’t all mugs like this?

Markings on the bottom of the mug are ‘PATENT. T.T.’ Made in Japan. 1960′s I am led to believe, and others seem to be going for quite a pretty penny on ebay. I won’t tell you I paid 4 bucks.

Treasure Craft Pineapple Dish

This little pip dish I ummed and ahhed over at a Salvo’s store. Did I like it? Did I not? I couldn’t decide. But in the end, I figured “it’s a pineapple, it’s all good.” On further inspection once getting it home, it’s a 1962 Treasure Craft California piece. Pretty funky really. And in perfect nick for its age.

Markings underneath are: 1962 Treasure Craft Compton Calif.
